What is farewell Tawaf in Islam?

Every pilgrim who has travelled to Makkah intending to do Hajj is required to perform Tawaf-al-Widaa. Only those women who are in menstruation are allowed to depart Makkah without doing this final Hajj rite. They are not required to perform farewell tawaf, and they are not required to make amends or redeem anything for failing to do so.

There is a justification for not performing farewell Tawaf to Makkah’s citizens. Only those pilgrims who have travelled from outside of Makkah to undertake the Hajj are required to complete this ritual. Anyone who skips this portion of the Hajj must atone for it by making a sacrifice.
